Zukunft D is an initiative aimed at strengthening democracy in a digitalized, interconnected society.

The project, supported by AlgorithmWatch, aula, Liquid Democracy, the Schwarzkopf Foundation for Young Europe, and Wikimedia Germany, will build expertise in the area of digital democracy, facilitate the exchange of knowledge, and foster nationwide networking. It promotes greater participation, simple and equitable access to information, secure data, public infrastructure, as well as transparent decision-making and open data access. The topics of Zukunft D can be divided into four major areas: Democracy and Media Education, Digital Systems, AI, and Data Use, Democratic Values and Promoting Diversity, Formats of Digital Participation. We are working on each of these areas within the framework of a working group. Initially, these groups consist of the initiators of Zukunft D, but they will quickly evolve into spaces for exchange and co-creation for relevant stakeholders.
