The Youth Progress Index (YPI) is the world’s most comprehensive measure of the quality of life and rights of young people.
Based on the Social Progress Index methodology, it enables public authorities and civil society organisations to systematically identify the most pressing barriers facing youth, strengthen their rights, and create the conditions for them to thrive.
In its fourth edition, the YPI analyses data from 3 billion young people across 169 countries, using more than 60 social and environmental indicators. It benchmarks each country between the worst (0) and best (100) possible outcomes, and compares performance among nations with similar GDP per capita—assessing whether a country is “underperforming” or “overperforming” compared to its economic peers.
