Brussels

The STOA Panel, established in 1987, provides the EP with independent expert assessment of techno-scientific developments and related policy options.

The STOA Panel forms an integral part of the structure of the European Parliament. It is composed of 28 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) who are nominated by twelve permanent Committees of the Parliament. STOA mainly carries out its mission by conducting Technology Assessment and Scientific Foresight projects and organising events. The STOA Panel carries the political responsibility for STOA's work, deciding on all STOA's activities.
