LaneHelp is a real-time civic information platform for Lane County that connects people to shelters, food, housing, transportation, alerts, and local services through a live, searchable public system built to reduce the “goose chase” of finding help.

LaneHelp began as a response to how fragmented and difficult it can be to find reliable local help, especially for people navigating housing instability, addiction recovery, transportation barriers, food access, or crisis situations. Built in Lane County, Oregon by a peer support specialist with lived experience in the systems the platform documents, the project combines community resources, shelters, transit, public alerts, housing information, events, jobs, and other civic tools into one searchable public platform.

The goal is to reduce the “goose chase” of finding help by making local information faster to access, easier to understand, and more transparent. LaneHelp emphasizes live updates, public accessibility, operational accuracy, and practical usability for both residents and frontline workers. The platform is already being used by local providers, outreach workers, shelters, and community organizations throughout Lane County.
