Nonpartisan, AI-powered plain-language summaries of U.S. federal and state legislation with conflict-of-interest scoring, campaign finance data, and party defection tracking.
TheBillRoom.org launched in 2026 to make U.S. legislation understandable for everyday citizens, journalists, and researchers. It tracks over 1,200 federal and state bills, providing AI-powered plain-language summaries, conflict-of-interest scoring based on campaign finance data, and party defection tracking; all free and nonpartisan. It's built for anyone who wants to understand what Congress is actually doing and who stands to benefit. Journalists use it to quickly background legislation; civics educators use it as a classroom resource; engaged citizens use it to hold representatives accountable.
The project is independently run and open to collaboration; if you cover civic tech, use it in your work, or want to help expand state-level coverage, we'd love to connect.
