An open project that uses data science - the same technologies used by giants like Google, Facebook and Netflix - for the purpose of monitoring public spending and sharing information in a way accessible to everyone.
The idea came from the data scientist Irio Musskopf, as a way to actively participate in the democratic process, overseeing public spending. When sharing the idea with friends, it didn't take long for the project be spread all over the country, with a team of 10 people and more than 600 volunteers willing to do it.

After a couple of weeks the AI raised that bar: more than 8,000 suspicious reimbursements were flagged by Rosie. During last January, the team officially reported more than 600 of them to the Brazilian Chamber of Deputies. Operation Serenata de Amor also counts on more than 500 volunteers sharing their work and thoughts as the whole project is open source. (Source, 2017-03 )
