Copenhagen

IWGIA promotes and defends Indigenous Peoples’ collective and individual rights with partners in 32 countries.

It brings significant expertise in documentation, advocacy and in promoting the participation of Indigenous communities in decision-making processes. Together with International Media SupportAsia Indigenous Peoples Pact, and Magamba Network, IWGIA is implementing the project: “Amplifying Indigenous Activists Voices: Countering Climate Disinformation”. The project will work across 13 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America to leverage digital technologies to strengthen climate activism. This will be done by enhancing technical capacity of Indigenous Peoples Forest and Climate Activists (IPFCA) in using digital technologies; supporting IPFCA, local and regional public interest media, fact-checking organisations, to improve digital literacy in combating climate mis- and disinformation; and finally, by enhancing IPFCA digital resilience and security.
