The Demokratiefabrik is a digital place where citizens meet to discuss various topics together and fabricate defined end products.
The “Demokratiefabrik” is a digital democratic innovation (DDI) developed by researchers from the University of Bern. The Demokratiefabrik aims to involve the population more in political decision-making processes. It came into use for the first time in June 2021. On this occasion, randomly selected citizens from a Swiss municipality autonomously created, with input from local parties, a questionnaire that served as a Voting Advice Application for a local election.
