CouncilLedger launched in late 2025 to close the information gap in UK public procurement. Large suppliers spend £10-50k/year on market intelligence tools while SMEs, 99.9% of UK businesses, bid blind, relying on spreadsheets and fragmented government portals.

 We aggregate 118M+ payment transactions, contract awards, tender notices, and framework agreements from over 400 UK councils into a single searchable platform. ML models predict retendering opportunities before they're announced, track competitor activity, and identify councils with matching procurement profiles.

 It's built for business development teams, bid writers, and anyone selling to UK local government — but also for journalists, researchers, and transparency advocates exploring how public money is spent.

 The project builds on open data published under the Local Government Transparency Code, with full provenance tracking back to original sources including mySociety's UK Local Authorities dataset.
